Speaker:  Jose L. Medina is the Assistant District Director for the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division (WHD) in the San Diego District Office. During over 20 years of WHD service, Jose has received many performance and special achievement awards, including the Secretary of Labor’s Exceptional Achievement Award. Jose began his WHD career as an investigator in West Covina CA. He has held different positions within WHD, including District Director in Minneapolis MN, and Director of Operations in Atlanta GA. Jose has a wealth of WHD experience in enforcement of all WHD laws, plus extensive experience in operations within WHD. Jose received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix, and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Jose’s personal accomplishments include completing over twenty (20) marathons, and community service with the local Optimist Service Club. Jose lives with his wife Emma, and daughter Marlowe. They have two adult daughters, Kelly, and Vivian.

Rosanna Santana is the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist (CORPS) for the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division’s San Diego District Office. She has been recognized with several U.S. Secretary of Labor Honor Awards in this capacity. She began her career with the Wage and Hour Division as an investigator in the Honolulu District Office and later in the San Francisco District Office. As an investigator, she was recognized regionally and nationally for her work in enforcement of the various laws the Agency administers. Prior to working at the Department of Labor, she provided consultation to small businesses, non-government organizations, and educational institutions when residing in San Francisco, Japan, and Hawaii. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Economic Development and Spanish and from the University of San Francisco’s master’s program in Non-profit Administration. Originally from San Diego, Rosanna is happy to be back in her hometown where she lives with her husband, Ulrich, and young son, Alexander.

Regularly Scheduled Meetings –Chapter meetings are an ideal place to network and they provide educational opportunities for chapter members to learn more about critical payroll and compliance issues while earning Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs). Non members are charged a $20.00 Fee per Regular Meeting.
