Community

Giving back has always been a core part of who we are. As an active organization within Orange County and the payroll and HR communities, we at PAYOC believe that strong professional connections go hand in hand with meaningful community involvement. Over the years, our members have proudly supported local charities, educational institutions, environmental efforts, and volunteer initiatives that strengthen and uplift our county. Whether through outreach, service, or collaboration, we look for opportunities to get involved and make a positive impact wherever help is needed in the Orange County community.

2025 Beach Cleanup Summer Event

August 9th we participated in a community event in cleaning Alamitos Beach. PAYOC teamed up with the Aquarium of the Pacific to keep our beaches sparkling clean and protect our oceans. You continue to impress us with your commitment - to our community, to a healthy environment, and for a good cause.

The PAYOC continues to participate in the Community and Volunteer activities by giving back to charitable organizations. This includes educational outreach to local community colleges; Golden West College and Irvine Valley College, to provide education on our vision as well as expose students to career opportunities in the payroll profession. We also continue to support local community food drives at The Friendship Shelter. Our mission is to expose our Goals, Vision and Accomplishment to the broader community at large. We welcome you to read about this wonderful organization and how we can help.

Friendship Shelter

Friendship Shelter helps homeless adults achieve self-sufficiency and become more productive members of our community.

Our 60-day self-sufficiency program in Laguna Beach, for which there is always a waiting list, provides a home, three meals daily and a wide range of support services for 32 men and women. Residents are expected to work, save money and develop skills to rebuild their lives. Graduates may apply to Henderson House Transitional Living apartments located in San Clemente, where 25 residents live for up to one year, allowing them to consolidate their gains and continue on the path to fully productive lives.

The agency is funded through the generosity of philanthropic individuals, foundations and organizations throughout the area. Since its inception, more than 5,000 adults have been the recipients of vital services.

Residents come from a broad range of personal and geographical backgrounds. We receive referrals from across Orange County from social workers, church and community organizations, chemical dependency and alcohol recovery programs, mental health agencies, hospitals, and other social services programs. Christmas Toy Drive

Anyone may call at any time to determine whether he or she is a candidate and to learn more about the program and procedures for acceptance.

The PAYOC participated in our first Christmas Toy Drive at our December Breakfast meeting, December 9, 2015. It was fun and rewarding to participate in the Toy Drive. We are very happy to help and provide hope to less fortunate children of the Orange County Ronald McDonald House and for them to experience the joy of Christmas.

The PAYOC continues to play an active role in the development of children. It was very nice to unite our members to a common cause. Robyn Diehm, Director of Educational Events, and Study Group Coordinator, delivered the toys collected to the Orange County Ronald
